Astier de Villatte – Palais d’Hiver
This incense evokes the luxury of a winter palace, combining earthy vetiver, rich patchouli, hints of orange blossom and ylang-ylang, warm Virginia cedar, and soft white musk. It creates an inviting and comforting atmosphere, perfect for cozy evenings. This fragrance, gifted by a dear friend, inspired my deeper exploration of incense and fragrance.
Kettl – Jinko Long Incense
Made with prized Vietnamese aloeswood, Jinko Long Incense delivers a deeply woody aroma with subtle herbal and spicy undertones. It’s ideal for quiet moments and enhancing mindfulness. I selected this incense alongside my father at Kettl's Greenpoint location, just a few blocks from my studio.
Yamadamatsu – Shu-Ju Kyara
During a visit to the Yamadamatsu storefront in Kyoto, I discovered Shu-Ju Kyara, one of their most luxurious offerings. This incense highlights the rare Rikkoku Kyara wood, presenting a sophisticated scent with resinous, subtly bitter notes complemented by delicate sweetness. A refined fragrance suited for focused reflection.
Yamadamatsu – Oju
Featuring premium Kalimantan aloeswood, Oju incense offers a balanced fragrance that blends sweet and savory notes with deep woody undertones. It’s excellent for daily enjoyment or meditation.

Hyofu provides a refreshing blend of Vietnamese aloeswood with vibrant floral and fruity elements, reminiscent of a cool breeze. It’s perfect when you seek clarity and freshness.
Shoyeido – Golden Pavilion (Kin-kaku)
Inspired by Kyoto's Kinkaku-ji temple, Golden Pavilion combines warm sandalwood, sweet cinnamon, and earthy patchouli. Its inviting fragrance makes it ideal for relaxed gatherings or personal reflection.
Shoyeido – White Cloud (Haku-un)
With a traditional blend of agarwood, sandalwood, and sweet benzoin, White Cloud has an earthy yet sweet aroma. It's excellent for creating a calm and peaceful environment.
